On Friday 2 November Year 3 extended their Religious Studies with a visit to St. Mary's Church.

On arrival, Year 3 met the Reverend Rachel, who showed them around the magnificent building and described what happens in each part of the Church.

Baptism was explained with the help of a volunteer Year 3 vicar conducting the ceremony, and up at the altar another volunteer tried on the ecclesiastical garments worn for Holy Communion!

The children showed excellent listening skills and thought of some very interesting questions to ask. They searched the Church for different symbols and features, and took the time to reflect on which part of the tudor building they liked the most.
