Year 3 enjoyed a drama workshop and a visit to Saffron Walden Museum as part of their 'Active Planet' topic.

Year 3 pupils at Dame Bradbury’s have been getting fully involved with their current learning topic of ‘Active Planet’.

They enjoyed a drama workshop based around the theme which was full of colour and movement. This helped the children to learn about the restless and unpredictable nature of volcanoes and earthquakes.

Year 3 then had the opportunity to visit Saffron Walden Museum and deepen their understanding of the rock cycle. At the Museum, they had a hands on experience, becoming ‘rock detectives’ and identifying which rocks were igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary. They then explored the Museum’s collection and discovered the many ancient and unusual ways in which rocks have been used throughout history.
