Year 1 and 2 from both Rosedale House and Dame Bradbury's were lucky enough to visit Legoland this week as part of their ‘Around the World’ topic they will be starting after half term.
They took part in a workshop that had them making some wonderful Lego creations from each of the 7 continents - including an eagle from North America, a pyramid from Africa and one of our parent helpers made a very impressive shark from Australia. Great collaboration skills were shown during this workshop as each group created a scene from each continent! We explored the ‘Miniland’ area where we listened to bagpipes from Scotland, saw a rocket from NASA and were amazed by the Eiffel Tower. Great excitement was in the air when we got to the Lego reef. Designing and making our very own digital fish for the Great Barrier Reef, which even needed feeding, was super fun! Time spent exploring different Lego and using our thinking toolkit to problem solve and create our own models was most enjoyable. We even got to meet a life-size Lego man. A great time was had by all.
