The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2021 is now closed. We are delighted to report that we exceeded our target of £20,000 raising a total of £27,240.50 including Gift Aid and offline donations.

The Big Give initiative took place across the Stephen Perse Foundation for the very first time this year. It is the UK’s number one charity platform specialising in bringing charities, philanthropists, the public and communities together to multiply their impact.

It has been an exciting and positive campaign for the whole Foundation, bringing together students, staff, parents and friends of the Foundation, focusing our efforts and ambitions on making a positive impact for those within our community. So many of the fundraising initiatives over the past week have been driven by the students, who have demonstrated, through purposeful engagement with the campaign, how much they care about making a difference to the lives of others.

Some of the highlights were the student-led stalls, which generated in just one hour £1,400 in offline donations, and the Year 11 and Year 13 student quiz night. This was an evening hosted by the students, consisting of a music round, with performances from the students themselves. We were joined in the second half by Frank Paul, champion of the BBC quiz ‘Only Connect’ and ‘Trapper’ on the Channel 4 quiz show ‘Answer the Trap’. By the end of the quiz we had reached a staggering £13,000 but the total just kept rising!

We remain committed to tackle inequality within our community and will continue to create educational pathways and invest in talented young people. Thank you once again to everyone who donated to our Big Give Christmas Challenge and Merry Christmas!
