19-23 October
Around a third of William Shakespeare’s plays are set in Italy. Over the years, this has inspired much scholarly debate: whilst there is no concrete evidence to suggest he ever travelled there, he clearly knew a great deal about Italian cities and culture. Some schools of thought have even dared to suggest that Shakespeare was not born in Stratford-Upon-Avon but was in fact Italian.
Our trip to Italy will give us an opportunity to discuss this and many of his great works at length, with visits to three cities that all have a strong Shakespearean connection - Verona, Padua and Venice. Whilst there, we will, of course, also take full advantage of all the wonderful architectural, cultural and artistic opportunities that these cities offer.

The scheme provides students with an in-depth experience in science, engineering and technology that will enable them to make an informed decision about their future studies and career.
At the launch event they will partake in some team building excercises and meet teams from around the region.
Our students will be working with Engineers from ARM, a Cambridge-based company, which is a world-leader in the technology field, on a real Design Engineering problem for six months. Their work will culminate in a presentation event at the end of April 2018.
