Science helps us to satisfy our curiosity about the world around us. It acquaints us with the building blocks and structures of the universe - from sub-atomic level to galactic scale - and explains the processes and discoveries that bring change and progress.

science curriculum

Biology, Chemistry and Physics are a key part of our core curriculum from Year 7 to 11.

In Year 7 and 8 you will have a double science lesson each week. In Year 9 this increases to a double and single lesson per week. All lessons are taught by a specialist teacher.

Year 10 and 11

  • If you opt to study (I)GCSEs for three separate sciences, you will have three lessons per week per subject.

  • If you choose the (I)GCSE Co-ordinated Sciences (Double Award), you will continue to have separate biology, chemistry and physics lessons.
