Dear parents,
These are challenging and unusual times, but we are incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive community of staff, students and parents.
As you will be aware, our remote schooling provision resumes this term and we hope that this will continue to provide at least some sense of normality in these abnormal times. The feedback from parents and students has been very positive and constructive and I would like to thank all of you who were able to take part in our remote schooling survey at the end of last term. We have been working hard across the school community to ensure that our students continue to receive an excellent education and your feedback has been integral to that process.
I am very grateful to all my colleagues for the work that they are doing to make the transition to remote learning as smooth as possible, and also to parents for their ongoing support in this process. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all Year 12 and Year 13 students. As Head of Sixth Form, I am proud of the way our students have adapted to all of these changes with such maturity and positivity.
Looking ahead, our Year 12 curriculum is back in full swing this term (albeit remotely), with A Level and IB lessons, enrichment and academic support running as normal. Our Year 12 guidance programme also resumes this term and it is important that students take full advantage of the excellent provision on offer, so that they are as well prepared as possible for the university application process next term. Our Year 13 students are now on study leave and will be sitting optional assessments later this half term. Thereafter, they will be given the opportunity to engage in an extended guidance and enrichment programme, details of which will be published in the coming weeks.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to formally welcome our new Student President Team - congratulations to Liberty W (Student President), Jasper L, Lauren T, Isabelle R, Aurora S and Imogen R! They will make a fantastic team and I look forward to working with them. On behalf of the entire Sixth Form community, I would also like to say a huge thank you to our outgoing Student President Team - Eva H (Student President), Jakub K, Madeleine S, Emma S, Charlotte H and Ella S - and to all those students who worked alongside the team over the past year.
Wishing you and your families well.
Best wishes
Mr Pinkus
