Pupils at Dame Bradbury’s Junior School have been practicing their environmental science investigation skills, recording and analysing the air quality at various locations around Saffron Walden throughout this term.
Our Stephen Perse Cambridge Sixth Form students enjoyed a guest talk by renowned entrepreneur and thought-leader, Dr Maggie Semple OBE, who spoke about the importance of being able to comfortably express one’s identity and of being aware of how other’s perceptions and experiences may vary from our own because of our different identities.

The end of term saw the annual GCSE and Sports Awards Presentation Evening for last year’s Year 11 students and their parents. The hall was full to capacity and was resplendent with floral decoration to give a real sense of splendour.
It’s been an action-packed few months for our sports teams at Senior School and Sixth Form (11-18), with District Cross Country Championships, Basketball, Football, and Netball in full swing.
The Cambridge District Sportshall Athletics Competition was held at the University Sports Centre, it was only our second year at the event and the first time for the boys teams, so learning the events and how to use rebound boards was a new challenge.
Stephen Perse Cambridge has donated 40 iPads, cases and chargers to Cambs Youth Panel as part of an ongoing partnership of technological donations.

The DofE programme started last term with students in Year 10 completing their Bronze expedition, this was done in the Bedfordshire countryside.
Students have been working on our school allotment and nature reserve (they renamed the sessions Potato Club). The aim is to manage the nature reserve using traditional skills and also use the allotment to grow heritage vegetables for a local food bank.

Over the course of the autumn term, all students in Years 7 and 8 were given the opportunity to select a free book of their choice as part of the Book Buzz programme that we have successfully piloted here at the Senior School Library.
